Senior Smile

The summer air was warm and heavy the morning we met Emily for her senior photoshoot. She had a bright, beautiful smile that assured us at once that she would be the perfect model. The morning sun streaked her brunette hair with enchanting shades of amber and glimmered in her sparkling green eyes. Emily was a natural and easy to pose against brick walls, clusters of thick ivy, and modern windows. Her fun personality showed in her choice of sporting some lollipop pink classic chuck taylors. Her flawless smile lit up the pictures and gave us an insight into her friendly and easy going spirit. As we were heading to another location we spotted an antique jade green door. The weathered texture and splashes of color made for a fun picture. The deep hues of green complemented Emily's bright top and tribal print dress. We ended the session by accompanying Emily to a local range for some trapshooting photos. She was a great sport and wielded the heavy gun with ease. (we thought we were good at shooting ;) ) All in all we had a fantastic time getting to capture Emily's engaging personality and wish her the best of luck in her future in marine biology!

Summer Anticipation

It was a hot and blistery afternoon that we headed out to meet soon-to-be parents Trina and Justin. Trina's chocolate-brown tresses framed her beautiful features and a long flowing black gown completed her look of elegance. Love was definitely in the air as the two cuddled and exchanged smiles in front of our cameras. The two were easy to photograph and fondly shared how eager they were to meet  "Baby Bump". The excitement and joy that comes with the anticipation of a first child is a special moment and we were elated to be able to capture this for them in their beautiful home. It may have been quite uncomfortably sticky and humid outside, but this didn't phase Trina, who was a trooper for some lovely outdoor shots. There was a beautiful field and a rustic orange gate behind their house that both served as excellent scenic backdrops. Other highlights of the session included stunning window-lit portraits, a fun textured backdrop paired with a hot pink dress, Justin lovingly cradling Trina's belly, and Trina's cute belly clad in plaid. It was an all around great session and we can't wait for them to see their final gallery of images. Congratulations to Trina and Justin!!!

As an artist it is so fun to create murals! The Cherry Blossom Tree that I created for Ella's room before she was born was the inspiration for her ten day old photo session. Rich raspberry, deep red, and pink to offset the beautiful Cay Blue wall color. Since the wall opposite the tree was blank I new it was the perfect spot for a large wall portrait of my baby princess cousin. I did the photo session right in her peaceful room with a small set up and utilized the soft North window light. Her portraits emulate the serenity that the tree creates.
